The DSCG is responsible for four three-year study courses:
- the Degree Course in Chemistry, which offers the opportunity to study matter in all its meanings, its properties and the transformations it undergoes
- the Degree Course in Geological Sciences, which offers the opportunity to learn about the history of our Planet, to understand its nature and to safeguard it
- the Degree Course in Natural Sciences, which leads towards a broad and widespread knowledge of the Science of Nature and the Environment
- the Degree Course in Green and Sustainable Chemistry
All four of our degree courses offer numerous courses associated with practical activities, such as field and laboratory activities, which often address real problems and contribute to increasing the technical-practical training of graduates. The excellent ratio between the number of teachers and students that characterizes our degree courses is a further added value to the quality of the teachings that are offered in a culturally stimulating and international environment, which allows us to carry out training and internship periods at abroad, in the countries affiliated with the Erasmus project.
Some degree courses include an orientation and evaluation test aimed at ascertaining aptitude and preparation for studies. In some cases this test can be used to limit access to the Degree Course (limited number). In fact, OFA stands for Additional Training Obligations.
The knowledge and skills possessed are verified through an Online Test managed by CISIA (hence the acronym TOLC), commonly called "OFA test". We invite you to read very carefully the regulations of the Study Course in which you have enrolled (or consult the relevant web pages) to find out the exact methods through which you can complete the OFA
Chemistry studies matter, its properties and the transformations it undergoes, and allows us to understand natural phenomena. The development and application of chemical knowledge contributes to improving the quality of our life. It is chemistry, in fact, that makes it possible to improve the properties of natural materials as well as the discovery and use of new substances and products, ranging from medicines to polymers, from fabrics to ceramic materials.
The degree course in Geological Sciences offers the opportunity to learn about the history of our planet, to understand its nature and to safeguard it. In a historical moment characterized by rapid climate changes and intense environmental modifications, graduates in Geological Sciences are essential figures for the protection of the natural environment, land management, mitigation of natural risks, exploration and responsible and eco-sustainable use of natural resources
If you actively experience contact with nature and observe the landscape that surrounds you with attention and curiosity, this is the degree course for you! The degree course in Natural Sciences trains professional naturalists. It offers a modern and complete cultural education oriented towards a systemic vision of the natural environment, described and interpreted through the application of the scientific method
The three-year degree course in Green and Sustainable Chemistry at the Mantua campus will provide the graduate with both the knowledge and skills of a modern chemist and those necessary to guide the transition towards increasingly sustainable and environmentally friendly processes, which integrate in a virtuous and effective chemistry, biochemistry and biotechnology.
