Dear fellows of the Deep-Sea Frontiers,
Save the date: 15–19 February 2027!
The Deep-Sea Frontiers School is coming back!
In 2027, the second edition of the School will explore the geological processes that shape the seabed, generate resources, pose hazards to offshore infrastructures and coastal settlements, and sustain life in the deep sea. The programme will provide comprehensive training on key processes such as gravity flows, contour-current sedimentation, fluid flow and subsurface circulation, as well as volcanism and hydrothermal activity.
This five-day programme is designed as a collaborative effort involving leading experts, who will guide undergraduate students and early-career researchers through the complexities of deep-seabed geological processes. The School will offer a balanced combination of theoretical foundations and hands-on practical exercises.
The full programme will be announced soon. Registration will open in September 2026.
