PRESENTATION
The Italian Association of Physical Geography and Geomorphology (AIGeo) organizes every two years a National Conference. In September 2009 the Third AIGeo National Conference was held in Modena in honour of Prof. Mario Panizza. The First National Conference took place in 2005 in Padova, in honour of Prof. Giovanni Battista Castiglioni, while the second one was held two years later in Torino, in memory of Prof. Augusto Biancotti.
AIGeo gives a large importance to the growth of young researchers and periodically organizes a Young Geomorphologist Day. The aim of this event is to support young researchers growth also through direct exchanges of scientific results and research methods in Geomorphology. During the III National Conference a Young Geomorphologist Day was scheduled.
During a National Conference it is always expected a field-trip in areas where a specific geomorphological theme is particularly representative. During the Third National Conference the field trip took place in the Italian Dolomites known all over the world for their outstanding mountain landscape.
